No two people experience a scent the same way, but every client can find herself in fragrance, with its easy-to-understand raw ingredients, storytelling about its origins, and emphasis on wearing it “your way.”
CHALLENGE
A survey revealed that 75% of Sephora shoppers didn’t know Sephora sold fragrance.
STRATEGY
To create excitement and awareness about Fragrance at Sephora, we broke emerging trends to the mainstream including niche, unisex, clean, fragrance wardrobes and scent cocktails. We took the position that fragrance isn’t just about notes and scent categories, it’s about memories, emotions and individuality in campaigns like Smells Like You and Unbottle Originality. We also made our digital library Fragrance iQ searchable by emotion and experience.
RESULTS
Established Sephora as a Fragrance destination and drastically expanded the Fragrance client base, especially with younger demographics.
